BIOGRAPHIES
Introduction ⇑ ⇓
Readers of the Boolean Union dissections will be aware of our cast of dissectors. Yet, across the dissections, there is not a whole lot of information as to who the dissectors are, their likes and their hobbies. Thus our dissectors have kindly taken the time to write short biographies of themselves, detailing things like their first dissection, their favourite tract and an excerpt about themselves. Read on if you wish to know more about them...

First Dissection:
The Marriage Mess - June 22, 2009
Favorite Tract: Der Brief |

| Jessica co-founded the Boolean Union with her friend Andrew in 2009 after concluding that the world needed a more dignified way to laugh at its own propaganda. What began as a modest experiment in cataloging the absurd has since grown into a sprawling monument to misplaced certainty, continually updated to reflect the creative evolution (and frequent degeneration) of religious dogma in the modern age. She continues to shape both the philosophy and visual design of the Union, contributing regularly to dissections and spearheading outreach efforts to broaden its reach beyond those already disillusioned. A lifelong skeptic of zealotry and its many aesthetic failures, Jessica approaches each new artifact of indoctrination with the respect due any historical curiosity: none whatsoever. Her work ensures that the flames of reason remain at least mildly inconvenient to those still clutching the matches. |

Homosexuality: Legitimate, Alternative Deathstyle (Part 3) - December 1st, 2017
Favourite Tract: TBD |

| Greetings to you, reader. While I could write a significant volume of words detailing elements of my life, I have already divulged plenty in the dissections I have been involved in (and perhaps more in future) for people to draw some conclusion. Though that also assumes you are curious enough to explore and piece together what there is relating to me. Nevertheless, it would be distasteful of me to leave you without some information for your trouble, even if only to serve as a foundation in which to start seeking further information.
Throughout my life, I have been called many things. Witch. Heretic. Accursed. Yet such labels are (in my view) quite subjective and based on the perception of involved parties. Is it heresy, if the heresy is truth? Is it witchcraft if it is used to benefit others rather than hurt them? Fair questions indeed, though that is not the purpose of this 'biography' section. As for what I will share, aside from a dark, morbid sense of humor and esoteric interests due to being selective about how I spend my time, I will share that I often times enjoy observing and testing to see what makes things work... be it person, thought processes or arguments. |

| I am unique amongst contributors here, as I come from a Jewish background, which provides me with a bit different perspective. I first had long conversations with Christian missionaries in college (several decades ago). Their claims made no sense to me then, and extensive study of Christianity, especially its early history, in the years since, has not changed that situation. I think I have only run across 1-2 Chick Tracts "in the wild", and didn't think much of them until I discovered Dissections during the pandemic. I very much enjoyed reading them, and also enjoy contributing. My reading habits are mainly in the areas of horror, science fiction, fantasy, and the occasional history, religion or science book. | ||
Mingnon (She / Her) ⇑ ⇓

First Dissection:
Kidnapped! - July 31st, 2023
Favorite Tract: Dark Dungeons |
||
| Mingnon might seem like a normal person but is really a magical-girl styled witch... who acts like a normal person. An enthusiast for video games and cats, she is someone who just wants to enjoy herself. It's just that there are those religious types like Jack Chick who have looked down on her way of living. So that's why she's here; to try and pick apart why she should feel bad, and make a few witty quips along the way. | ||

First Dissection:
The Missing Day - November 18th, 2023
Favourite Tract: The Gay Blade |

| In 2004, Dot was given a Chick Tract and it changed her life forever...
Or rather, someone on the same web forum as her posted a copy of Dark Dungeons and it set off a lifelong obsession with bizarre religious media. Even though Chick Tracts are perhaps less prolific in Scotland from whence she posts, she's still managed to amass a somewhat alarming collection of them. When she's not slagging off shitty dead American cartoonists, she enjoys streaming weird old games, and is greatly interested in the history of trans people in the videogames industry. |
