Holocaust - Tract #062 (HOLO)
Art by Fred Carter - © 1984 Chick Publications

The Holocaust was a Roman Catholic Inquisition against the Jews. No true Christians would kill anyone in the name of Jesus. God commands us to love the Jewish people.

o Introduction collapse_button

Slick146Slick146 Dear lord, Jack, simple by choosing this as a subject matter, he crossed another line. A bloody huge line.

Let's just....get this over with.

Slick146Slick146 Rivera. Alberto Rivera. Well, well, now we have some explanation for why Jack wrote this. See, Rivera was an admitted con man, and gave Jack most of his theories about the Catholic Church.

The fact he gave credit to a con man in a tract about the Holocaust makes this even worse.

Why is the American Nazi Party, of all people, being allowed to have their own parade? Who the hell committed career suicide by letting them?

It's at times like this when I wish the Blues Brother would show up in the Blues mobile. Ah, that would be satisfying.

Is the Jewish Defence League even a thing? I actually want them to show up now.

Slick146Slick146 Pay attention to the fact that grandfather here is a Holocaust survivor. Cause it makes his little outburst so ironic, it's insulting. A Holocaust survivor being prejudiced against Christians. He doesn't call them German swine, no, he calls them Christian swine.

Jack, what the fuck is wrong with you? Why would have him say that? Why?

o Page 4 collapse_button

Page 4

Slick146Slick146 Is the crowd for or against the American Nazi Party? Can they make up their minds?

So, Jack was against Holocaust denialism. This doesn't make up for what he has done, mind you. And only makes this tract worse.

Heck, it can be considered a form of Holocaust denialism, be removing the blame from the Nazis and putting it on the Catholic Church, a completely innocent victim in regards to the Holocaust.

Slick146Slick146 Bob, shut. The. Fucking. Hell. Up.

You weren't there at all. What gives you the right to tell a Holocaust survivor what really happened? Why are you the expert all of a sudden?

Cause you're a white male Christian, right? Goddamn it....

Does he even know what an inquisition is?

Slick146Slick146 Bob is crazy here. He really is. He isn't citing any sources either. He's just spouting words and insulting conspiracy theories like an asshole. If Mr. Weiss would slap him, it would be on par with Buzz Aldrin punching a Moon Landing Hoaxer in the face.

Still....guest right here. Very important to maintain.

But Bob is not being a very good host. He is insulting the religion which saved so many Jews from the Holocaust in World War Two.

I wonder why the Catholic church even did this inquisition? What did they gain? And where did Bob get these theories?

And who is Edmond Paris? Sounds French.

Oh wait, look!

Full text of "Secret History of the Jesuits"

You can read the whole thing here.

And here is a quote.

There is no other person more qualified to introduce Edmond Paris' book, "The Secret History of the Jesuits," than Dr. Alberto Rivera, a former Jesuit priest under the extreme oath and induction, -who -was trained in the Vatican and briefed on the history of the Jesuits.

All credibility is lost in the introduction alone.

Slick146Slick146 So-

Hey wait. No stop! No! Come back here, brain! Come back!!!!!!

Sorry, my brain tried to crawl out my ear. Had to stop it. Anyways....

What's wrong with this entire conversation?

One: Jack's source is clearly just as biased as he is about the Catholic church. Another thing, it wasn't the goddamn Gestapo who was behind the Holocaust, it was the SS! The SS were the ones who were key to the whole thing. They were the main organisers. The Gestapo was actually very ineffective, and had an unearned reputation.

Two: Catholic pressure on the media? That is so laughable, I don't even find it funny. We all know that the Catholic church tends to get the short end of the stick nowadays, and the USA has a long history of anti-catholicism. Just look at what happened to Al Smith.

Slick146Slick146 Okay, something is real fishy about this situation.

Namely, that I cannot think of a single instance when the Catholic church has been cleansing the land of heretics. Ever. Spanish Inquisition? Yeah, much more political than religious, and was more a tool of the Spanish monarchy to keep control.

Oh wait.

Catharism. Yeah, that. They were declared heretics.....but they really were heretics, and rejected the concept of there being one God, instead going for a dualists approach.

But does anyone else know of a good instance of the Catholic church rooting out heretics?

And why is Encyclopedia Britannica Volume V being cited? I don't have a copy on hand, so could anyone check it out?

o Page 9 collapse_button

Page 9

Slick146Slick146 Well, this is the council of Trent, which Jack always cites as being Catholic law. And notice none of this is about killing. Jack has admitted to paraphrasing here, but heretics get excommunicated. Okay?

o Page 10 collapse_button

Page 10

Slick146Slick146 It isn't Adolph Hitler, it's Adolf. I think, anyway. Does the spelling matter?

Hitler was never excommunicated by name, but the entire leadership of the Nazi party was in the February Edict of 1931. This would include Hitler. He also never went to Mass after leaving home or received the sacraments. He was born to a Catholic mother, but was not one himself.

A Catholic newspaper in Spain is absolute proof Hitler is a hero to the Roman Catholic church? One single newspaper from a fascist country? The source being Paris again?

Safe to say that little bit of information has no evidence to support it.

Pretty sure a concordat are treaties and agreements signed between the Vatican and other countries. The one with Mussolini was to settle the border between the Vatican and Italy, for example, if I am correct.

o Page 11 collapse_button

Page 11

Slick146Slick146 Isn't Germany a very Protestant country? And wasn't the Holocaust racially motivated?

Or did Jack not believe the Holocaust was about race? By this point, you could tell me Jack Chick believed Jesus said committing suicide would send you to hell, and let's face it, he probably did.

Jack probably excludes any mention of what the Nazis did to homosexuals, due to his own views on them.

Funny story. Ever hear of the People's Crusades? Well, they were people who thought the First Crusade was taking too long, and decided to take back the Holy Land themselves.

One sprung up in Germany....and promptly began attacking the Jews, because they were easy targets for ransacking. The Catholic church was pissed off about this, for obvious reasons, and there are cases of Catholic bishops actually defending the Jews, with one even leading his men alongside the defenders of a city to help fight the "Crusaders" off.

And Jack expects people to believe that it was responsible for killing 6 million of them as part of some ploy to usher in a one world government.

Jack Chick only studied religion, obviously, and even then, twisted it to fit his world view.

This is just an excuse to make a man at the Catholic church.

o Page 12 collapse_button

Page 12

Slick146Slick146 Jack's using the fact that the Vatican sighed the concordat with Nazi Germany to say that they supported the Nazis, despite the fact that the Nazis were perfectly willing and did break the concordat. This is like of you took a picture of someone, say a liberal, standing next to Trump and saying that person is a Trump supporter, when in fact they were trying to figure out how to negotiate a new health care bill with the man that wasn't batshit crazy.

Great, I just brought up Trump. Is that some kind of Godwin's Law?

o Page 13 collapse_button

Page 13

Slick146Slick146 Ruth is right, here. There can't be another inquisition. The Catholic church most likely doesn't have the power to mount one at all.

Notice how Jack simply says the Office of Inquisition is still around....when it is likely he had no clue what an inquisition actually is. He doesn't cite anything else for the other claim about the Catholic church still being the same thing.

o Page 14 collapse_button

Page 14

Slick146Slick146 A tremendous political and religious power, eh? Jack just points out there are one billion Catholics and cites a book by a guy called-

Avro Manhattan? Wait, what? What kind of name is that? Avro Manhattan? No, no, I am it even going to bother looking it up, it's bullcrap based on the title alone!

to set up diplomatic relations

I don't see how that would be a problem at all. I assume this was written before Reagan's presidency, when diplomatic relations were restored? Probably helped confirm his suspicions.

How does Bob know all this is my question. Where did he learn it? Infowars?

And why are they all walking into the next room? What the hell is the point of that? What, they trying to be cool or something?

o Page 15 collapse_button

Page 15

Slick146Slick146 Narrow-minded bigots like Bob here.

Guys, when has the media ever really taken the Catholic church's side? Look around, you can see for yourself.

And Jack brings up the child molestation scandals for the sake of making another jab in an already repulsive example of bigotry.

Wilson Ewin is quoted, but strangely, not the publication itself.

I just realised, Jack must have lost his shit when a Jesuit became the first Pope from the Western Hemisphere.

o Page 16 collapse_button

Page 16

Slick146Slick146 When was this written? Early 2000s?

Oh my god, why did Jack just bring illegal immigration into this? Goddamn it, why? And the Holocaust survivors agrees with Bob on that? He just made him even more prejudiced! Wow! Just....wow.

Jack, you really just want to blame the Catholic church for everything bad that happens in the world, don't you?

Ironic on he criticise bigotry....but was clearly himself one.

o Page 17 collapse_button

Page 17

Slick146Slick146 Yes, what about the Constitution?

Billy Graham, I have heard that name before. Can't exactly remember where though.

Catholic controlled media. I find this ironic, given how many times I have heard people say that media is anti-catholic. And if the Protestants would seriously be so opposed to the signing of a simple concordat, I find it understandable why they would do it in secret.

o Page 18 collapse_button

Page 18

Slick146Slick146 I need to look up this constitutional convention.

Yeah, look likes there was only one constitutional convention.

Y'know, if Jack Chick heard about how favorably they viewed Islam, and the opinions some of them had on God and Jesus, he would have lost his shit or double thought it out of his memory. Actually, I imagine he did.

Since when had Congress been pro-Catholic?

o Page 19 collapse_button

Page 19

Slick146Slick146 I think I can hear everyone reading this collectively groaning.

Time is running out, and the Last Generation approaches.

Jesus Christ will stop it!

I hate to say this, but would this be like the time he stopped the Holocaust from killing six million Jews.

And let's face it, Jack probably didn't care about the Jews that much anyway. Not Protestant enough for him.

o Page 20 collapse_button

Page 20

Slick146Slick146 I don't....I just don't....

If Bob was debating in an actually debate, in a professional environment anywhere, he would be called out for his lack of evidence so fast that he would be laughed back to kindergarten and drop out in the first week.

o Page 21 collapse_button

Page 21

Slick146Slick146 So, Mr Weiss following Jewish customs which see Jesus as a false Messiah had nothing to do with it?

Notice that being a good person is never mentioned as part of being a true Christian. Yeah, not killing or harming someone doesn't make you a good person.

o Page 22 collapse_button

Page 22

Slick146Slick146 Oh.

This is about the approaching end of the world.

Goddamn it....

o Conclusion collapse_button

Slick146Slick146 Now I think, no, I am certain, Jack believed all the Jews who died in the Holocaust went to hell. The fact a Holocaust survivor converted to Christianity in order to be saved gives it away.

Next up, we are going to look at the original version of the Last Generation, from 1972.

You'll need it for the one afterwards.....

Also, these tracts get harder and harder to riff the more stupid they are.
